نفذت المخابرات العامة السودانية عملية أمنية كبرى في منطقة أمبدة بالعاصمة الخرطوم، تمكنت خلالها من ضبط كميات كبيرة من العملات الأجنبية المزيفة، بالإضافة إلى مطابع وأجهزة متطورة تُستخدم في تزوير الأموال، إلى جانب أسلحة متنوعة.
ووصفت العملية بأنها من الأكبر على الإطلاق في مجال مكافحة تزوير العملة داخل البلاد، حيث تم تفكيك شبكة إجرامية كانت وراء إنتاج وترويج هذه العملات المزيفة، التي تهدد الاستقرار الاقتصادي والأمني في السودان.
وقد تم الاحتفاظ بالمضبوطات وتقديم المتهمين للمساءلة القانونية، بعد القبض عليهم في مسرح العملية.
تأتي هذه الخطوة في إطار جهود الأجهزة الأمنية السودانية المستمرة للتصدي لكل أشكال الجريمة التي تضر بالاقتصاد الوطني وتعكر صفو الأمن المجتمعي، مؤكدة على حرصها على حماية البلاد من كل المخاطر.
