في إطار التعاون الثنائي بين السودان ومصر في مجال الطاقة، التقى وزير الطاقة والنفط السوداني، د. محيي الدين نعيم، بنظيره المصري د. محمود عصمت في العاصمة المصرية القاهرة، لبحث سبل تأهيل شبكة الكهرباء السودانية وتعزيز التعاون في مجالات الطاقة المتجددة.
وتناول اللقاء إمكانية الاستفادة من الخبرات المصرية في مجالات الطاقة الشمسية وطاقة الرياح، بجانب بحث استكمال المرحلة الثانية من مشروع الربط الكهربائي بين السودان ومصر، والتي تهدف إلى رفع القدرة إلى 300 ميجاوات.
وأكد الجانبان أهمية التعاون الإقليمي في مجال الطاقة لتحقيق الاستقرار الكهربائي ودعم جهود التنمية المستدامة، مشيرين إلى أن المرحلة المقبلة ستشهد تبادل فرق فنية ومزيد من التنسيق على مستوى المشروعات الاستراتيجية المشتركة.
