جاء ذلك خلال جولته الميدانية التفقدية إلى مستودع وقود بحر أبيض، الذي تعرض لأضرار بالغة جراء الهجوم، حيث أشاد الوالي بسرعة تدخل فرق الدفاع المدني التي نجحت في السيطرة على الحريق والحد من امتداده لمناطق حيوية مجاورة.
